EABAs the local Collingwood council brings in the 2015 budget, an item came up that I had not thought of before. The potential plague of the Emerald Ash Borer.  The nasty bug has destroyed millions of trees and been found in Meaford. If this deep freeze winter doesn’t kill the pesky destroyers, there is a good chance they arrive in town later this year or next.

The Town of Collingwood has put a little into the budget for this year to deal with the impending menace. I think that is a good decision. If you have an Ash tree on your own property, consider having it inoculated with TreeAzin. Actually, unless you want to lose your tree, just get it done.
