Residential sales recorded through the MLS® system for the areas that include Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township, Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, the Municipality of Meaford, and Grey Highlands, numbered 185 units in June 2019; up 5.1% (nine sales) from June 2018.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales in this region numbered 929 units over the first six months of the year, rising 1.2% (11 sales) from the same period in 2018.
The number of new listings has increased with a current climbing supply in inventory of just over 4 months. When reviewing the date in the charts though, I would point out a new trend in our area of listings being cancelled and then reactivated as new listings which skews the data for actual new ‘inventory” hitting the market.
We are seeing continued, more balanced market conditions than we have seen in recent years. While there are strong sales in certain sectors, properties are in many cases staying on the market longer and we are seeing more frequent price adjustments signalling some buyer hesitancy.
