These are two words you generally wouldn’t associate with the practice of real estate. Well, in my case, you would be dead wrong. Not so long after the rattle snake incident, I was attending to a sign installation on a rural Sideroad. It was kind of dusky out, sort of rainy and overcast. Early evening. As I was hammering in the last of the posts for the For Sale sign, I heard a crack and a ping. Reloading sounds. Crack, ping, again. Then, I dove into my car. At first, my mind wouldn’t accept that someone was trying to shoot at me. Or near me. I am assuming that the neighbour didn’t much care for me putting in the sign that evening, and felt he should let his feelings be known to me. He let his fingers do the walking, right over the trigger of his shotgun. Or perhaps he was shooting squirrels or foxes, but I have to say, at 5’7″ I would make a really, really big squirrel and a rather tall fox, but there wasn’t any way I was sticking around to find out what the problem was! Needless to say, I was shaken up and high-tailed it out of there as fast as I could. They say fences make good neighbours; well, I say Kevlar vests do.
