Cranberry Village is the oldest and largest condominium development in Collingwood, Ontario. It is located on the west side of town near the waters of Georgian Bay with Blue Mountain serving as a backdrop in the west. It is approximately 2 kms west of the town centre via Highway 26
It’s tricky to summarize anything about Cranberry Village in a sentence of two since it is so large with a variety of different locations within itself, a variety of ages and styles of units and different offerings and prices for each. In a very general sense, Cranberry has the oldest units and so, many have had to go through significant upgrades in recent years and energy efficiency has not always been what it could be. On the flip side, Cranberry condos offer more space, foot by foot and dollar by dollar than almost any other development in the area. I find some areas preferable over others but again, it always comes down to the needs of a Buyer.
Developer: Willann Investments Ltd and later, Law Development Group
Built: Originally started construction in the late 1970’s and development has been fairly continuous since that time
Size: situated on approximately 750 acres with an estimated 2000 units including ski condos, time share units, multi-residential buildings and blocks. There is also a hotel and commercial component on site.
Parking: For older ski condos, parking is outdoor and shared in common with other unit owners. In newer areas such as waterside units and units in The Links, many units have private, reserved spaces or driveways.
Public School District: Admiral Collingwood P.S. and Collingwood Collegiate Institute
Municipal Services: Units are fully serviced with municipal water and sewer. Units were built with electric baseboard heating and gas is now available. Many units have converted original wood burning fireplaces to natural gas.
Average Prices (based on all unit types and locations with 2 or more bedrooms)
Amenities: walking paths, a private marina, 18 hole golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, recreation programs and camps. Different from most other developments in the area, Cranberry amenities are NOT owned by the private unit owners nor are they included in the condominium fees. Users can purchase an annual family membership for $250.00 which allows access to most amenities other than golf.
Condo Fees and Taxes: As there are such a huge number and variety of condo corporations and variety of units in Cranberry Village, it is impossible to provide average condo fees and taxes.
Walk Score: 47 which means car or transit dependant although some amenities are in walking distance. Great trail system makes it easy to connect into town centre.
